Power Along the Way PDF Print E-mail
Are there things you sense God may want you to do and you are not sure if you are up for it? For some time now our team to El Salvador has been preparing for the trip. There are 10 from Discovery Alliance and 10 from MAC. We know it is going to be a long trip there. We leave at noon on Saturday the 13th of February and then after flying all night we arrive on Sunday morning at 6:45. I envisioned falling into bed about 8:00 AM. But what I learned a few days ago is that when we land at 6:45 AM, I will be preaching two hours later at a church in El Salvador. I'm trying to figure out how to keep from drooling on my notes . . . how to stay awake during my own sermon. One of our Elders reminded me that the way to approach these stretching demands is to say, "God, I'm stepping out in obedience here. I don't know where I will gather the strength to do this. But I'm trusing you to give me power for this assignment." When I think about it, this is a biblical principle. God instructed His people to step INTO the Jordan River at flood stage and THEN He divided the river so they could cross over on dry ground. Jesus said to the 10 lepers, "Go show yourselves to the Priests." And "as they went, they were healed." God always asks us to take a step and then He gives us the power along the way. Are you taking steps of faith these days? Are you experiencing His power along the way? Take a step of faith and experience his power today.

Thank you.
