Father, You deeply love your children & You abhor wrong,
Yet, when I look upon our unjust world filled with unending wars, broken families, lost children, and damaged creation,
and I watch as truth is obscured by lies, self-interest triumphs goodness, lawlessness is lauded and righteousness is marginalized,
I find it hard to see Your Loving Touch anywhere.
Evil seems to have darkened and shaded everything in sight.
Then, Father, You nudge me to look up from the temporal and see Your Face,
to run into Your Arms and see the world from Your vantage point.
Eternal Reality exposes evil as only a small grey smudge on your Unending Creation.
Your Mind and Design are not threatened,
Your Sovereign Will and Goals are not jeopardized,
Your Unending Goodness and Kindness are not obscured by a transitory blur.
The Everlasting Landscape manifests its thin veneer.
I know, Dear Lord, that You will someday remove it with the stroke of Your Hand.
Then, Father, I can dwell in this time and detect the joy of this creation,
glimpsing Your Hand as you fashion your Children and build Your Kingdom.
I can conform to Your Design and Plan understanding I am part of the True Reality.
I can depend on Your Timing to remove all the darkness to allow Light to shine through.
In times when I see the shadow, I can trust in You.
