1.Meet two times with your potential mentor to get to know one another. 

Take the first two weeks to listen to each other's stories and share your desires to grow in the faith as well as any current struggles and major life events.

2. If you are connecting well with your mentor after the first two meetings, commit to meet for another 8 weeks.

Your mentor will discuss with you what content (Scripture or discipleship study) would be  helpful to lead your discussions together.

3. If those 8 weeks have been fruitful, commit to meet for another 3 months.

Again, you will discuss with your mentor what would be helpful for your spiritual growth and make an intentional plan to focus on that during your meetings.

4. After these 6 months together, prayerfully discern if this is a good discipleship relationship to continue. If so, commit to maintain the relationship as long as the Lord leads.

5. After 1-2 years of being mentored, consider becoming a mentor. One of the ways we grow spiritually is when we begin teaching and helping others grow in their faith.
